Eric Singleton Jr. Signs with Auburn Football Team

Eric Singleton Jr.: Georgia Tech transfer wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. has officially committed to Auburn, the university revealed on Monday. Singleton, ranked as the top wide receiver and third overall player in ESPN's transfer rankings, decided to join Auburn. 


He chose the Tigers over top contenders like Texas, Ole Miss, LSU, and Miami. When he joins Auburn, Singleton will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. 

   

Eric Singleton Jr. joins Auburn Football Team, strengthening their roster for the upcoming season.


The 5-foot-11, 190-pound sophomore quickly became a standout playmaker for the Yellow Jackets. In 2023, he earned Freshman All-America honours and finished second in the ACC Offensive Rookie of the Year voting.

With 104 receptions for 1,468 yards and 10 touchdowns in his first two seasons, Singleton made a strong impact. Now, he is joining forces with Oklahoma transfer quarterback Jackson Arnold. Together, they will form part of one of the most promising young receiving corps in college football.


With a season of 1,126 all-purpose yards and an average of 12.8 yards per touch, Eric Singleton Jr. starred as a receiver, rusher, and returner for Georgia Tech, earning honourable mention All-ACC recognition as the Yellow Jackets decided with a 7-5 record.


Singleton will now join Auburn, a school that aims to produce one of college football's best transfer portal classes. Jackson Arnold, the fifth-ranked quarterback in ESPN's transfer rankings, recently committed to the Tigers.

Auburn has brought in 14 transfer commits, bolstering their roster around Arnold. 

The additions include wide receiver Horatio Fields from Wake Forest, tight end Preston Howard from Maryland, running back Durell Robinson from UConn, and offensive tackles Xavier Chaplin from Virginia Tech and Mason Murphy from USC.


Fields and the highly regarded Cam Coleman will be Singleton's teammates. In his actual freshman year, Coleman, a former five-star recruit, caught 37 receptions for 598 yards and eight touchdowns. Promising freshmen Bryce Cain, Perry Thompson, and Malcolm Simmons will join him. After concluding with a 5-7 record in coach Hugh Freeze's second season, Auburn is hoping to do better. 


The team lost six of eight SEC games, marking the program's fourth straight losing season. The Tigers, however, are hoping to improve and become a competitive squad for the future with the fresh talent infusion.
