Afghanistan vs Zimbabwe: Zimbabwe have made one change to their squad for the Afghanistan series, replacing Tinotenda Maposa with Trevor Gwandu. This adjustment comes as they prepare to face Afghanistan in the multi-format tour. Afghanistan won the toss and chose to bat first in the opening T20I against Zimbabwe. Rashid Khan, the Afghanistan captain, elected to bat, marking the start of their tour in Zimbabwe. Mujeeb Ur Rahman, who last played in a T20I in June, is back from injury and will join Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi to form a formidable spin trio for the visitors.

Zimbabwe’s captain, Sikandar Raza, expressed that he would have preferred to bowl first anyway, despite Afghanistan's decision. The only change for Zimbabwe from their final T20I against Pakistan is the inclusion of Trevor Gwandu in place of Tinotenda Maposa. In Harare, the pitch is expected to favor the batters with skewed square boundaries – 79 meters on one side and 64 meters on the other. This will be a test for both teams as they adapt to the conditions.

Sediqullah Atal will open the innings for Afghanistan in place of Ibrahim Zadran, who is absent from the squad. Afghanistan has opted not to start the series with young top-order batters Zubaid Akbari and Darwish Rasooli. This suggests a conservative approach to handling their batting lineup against Zimbabwe’s bowlers.

Zimbabwe: Tadiwanashe Marumani (wk), Brian Bennett, Dion Myers, Wessly Madhevere, Sikandar Raza (capt), Ryan Burl, Tashinga Musekiwa, Wellington Masakadza, Richard Ngarava, Blessing Muzarabani, Trevor Gwandu

The focus now shifts to the game’s dynamics in Harare as Zimbabwe seeks to capitalize on the conditions and put up a strong performance against Afghanistan’s experienced squad.
