Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6: The new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, now equipped with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, impresses with a noticeably slimmer and lighter build than its predecessor.
At Galaxy Unpacked 2024, Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 6, its latest book-style foldable device. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset for the Galaxy, it is an incremental upgrade over its predecessor.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 features a 7.6-inch 120Hz sAMOLED inner screen, but Samsung has increased the size of the outer screen from 6.2 inches to 6.3 inches. With a maximum brightness of 2,600 nits, the new foldable phone is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
It comes with an improved dual rail hinge structure supported by a strong folding edge, to which Samsung has added IP48 water and dust resistance. To recap, the previous model had IPX8 water resistance. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 weighs 239 grams, making it 14 grams lighter than its previous model. Samsung has also made the phone 12.1 mm thin when folded and 5.6 mm thin when unfolded.
On the back, you still get a 50MP primary camera, accompanied by a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and a 12MP ultrawide sensor. Also, the main display's camera sensor remains unchanged at 4MP. The phone operates on One UI 6.1.1, which is built on Android 14, and it features a powerful 4,400mAh battery. This supports fast 25W wired charging, convenient 15W wireless charging, and handy 4.5W reverse wireless charging.
The starting price for the base model of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which includes 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, is $1,899.99 (approximately Rs 1,58,680). If you opt for the 512GB or 1TB models, they are priced at $2019.99 (around Rs 1,68,700) and $2259.99 (approximately Rs 1,88,745) respectively. These models will be available for purchase starting July 24th.
